NEPSE down by 20.56 points; turnover above Rs 160 million

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) plunged 20.56 points or 2.33 percent to close at 859.97 level.

Similarly NEPSE Sensitive and Float also dropped by 2.84 and 2.94 percent to close at 183.88 and 60.34 levels respectively.

Opening at 980.44 level this afternoon, the local bourse went up to 886.2 mark within the initial hour amid the rise in hope among the investors. Thereafter it stepped downhill throughout the day.

However the investor’s participant is gradually increasing amid the increase in total turnover which amounted Rs 162.60 million today.

Among the sub-indices, Banking and Hydropower dropped by double digit of 35.22 and 49.82 points or 4.57 and 2.65 percent to close at 735.83 and 1830.64 levels respectively.

Insurance dipped by 12.2 points or 0.34 percent to close at 3588.03 level.

Development and Finance grounded by 9.91 and 2.42 points to close at 767.95 and 522.42 level respectively.

Others however managed to land in green today recording surge of 24.67 points to close at 675.54 level.

Shares like CHCL, NBB, EBL, NABIL, PRVU and BOK were highly traded today.

ADBL, BOK, NLIC, CFCL and NTC were among the top gainers of the day whereas HBL, NUBL, KBL, SBL and LBL were among the top losers.

Altogether 444,909 unit shares of 68 scrips were traded through 1,416 transactions worth Rs 162.60 million.
