Nepal Chamber of Commerce Hosts Interaction on AI Policy and Industrial Development to Shape Nepal’s Digital Future

Nepal Chamber of Commerce organized an interaction on Nepal’s digital future focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy and industrial development at Jamal, Kathmandu attended by Communications and IT Minister Jagadish Kharel and representatives from over two dozen IT organizations.

Speakers emphasized collaboration between government, private sector and stakeholders to promote effective AI use, clear policies, and a supportive legal framework. President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal noted AI’s importance for economic transparency, job creation, and improving sectors like agriculture, health, education, and finance.

The program also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Chamber’s IT, Software & Technology Committee and the Union of Information, Communication & Technology Nepal to promote AI and IT initiatives. Participants discussed challenges related to policy implementation, legal issues, data security, and cybersecurity risks.
