Nabil Foundation celebrates New Year with Cerebral Palsy Nepal
Nabil Foundation celebrated New Year 2075 with the children afflicted with cerebral palsy at Self Help Group for Cerebral Palsy (SGCP). Nabil Foundation along with Nabil bank’s and Himalaya Television team jointly celebrated New Year with the special children. The children performed various activities including games, musical program, dance, etc. Singer Ms. Sabina Karki also entertained the children by presenting her songs.
Cerebral palsy is considered a neurological disorder caused by a non-progressive brain injury or malformation that occurs while the child’s brain is under development. Cerebral palsy primarily affects body movement and muscle coordination. SGCP was established 31 years ago and its objective is to provide proper care, comfort and relief to the children and adults suffering from Cerebral Palsy. SGCP runs rehabilitation centre, special education program and Outreach program to children with neurological disorders and their parents. Outreach program is a home-based program for cerebral palsy afflicted children which have no access to rehabilitative services. The trained home visitor provides door-to-door service to the CP children and also teaches basic therapy skills and stimulation techniques to the parents.
Nabil Bank has previously partnered with SGCP to start outreach program in Parsa district with to provide counseling service, medical service, and training programs for children suffering from Cerebral Palsy. Nabil Foundation celebrated New Year 2075 with the motive of spending time with the CP afflicted children. Mr. Bimal Lal Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer of SGCP along with CGCP team paid a warm welcome to the foundation’s team and appreciated the noble thought for celebration with cerebral palsy children.
