MetLife Nepal Provides Water Reservoir Tanks to Ilam Flood-Affected Families
MetLife Nepal, in partnership with Sungava Development Organization, has distributed 500-liter water reservoir tanks to over 80 families affected by the severe floods and landslides in Ilam District caused by heavy rains on 18–19 Ashoj 2082. The disaster damaged infrastructure, displaced hundreds of households, and left many without access to clean water.
To address this urgent need, the two organizations collaborated to supply durable water storage solutions to some of the most affected families in remote areas. The distribution is being coordinated with local ward offices and disaster committees to ensure fairness and transparency, while Sungava’s volunteers and technical team are overseeing delivery and documentation.
MetLife Nepal’s General Manager, Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, highlighted that access to clean water is essential for dignity and recovery, expressing gratitude for the partnership supporting Ilam residents during rebuilding efforts.
MetLife operates globally as a leading financial services provider, while MetLife Nepal has been offering insurance services since 2001. Sungava Development Organization focuses on community-based infrastructure and social development projects in rural Nepal.
