MetLife Foundation, in partnership with Plan International Nepal, has launched the second phase of the Youth Economic Empowerment Project (YEEP–II) in Dhanusha district. With funding of US$80,000, the initiative focuses on supporting marginalized youth, especially young women, by improving access to sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The project enhances financial and digital literacy, promotes access to formal banking and digital services, and provides vocational training in sectors like agro-processing, tourism, and technology.

It also offers safe migration support for those seeking foreign employment. Additionally, the program engages families and local stakeholders to address gender barriers and encourage women’s economic participation.

Over one year, the project will directly benefit more than 200 young people, while also involving parents, employers, and local authorities to ensure long-term impact. Overall, the initiative aims to strengthen economic resilience and expand opportunities in one of Nepal’s underserved regions.
