Lumbini Palace Resort Limited has signed a landmark Hotel Management Agreement with Marriott International to rebrand and operate as Lumbini Marriott Resort & Spa, marking Marriott’s first presence in Nepal outside the Kathmandu Valley. After three years of profitable operations, the resort is moving toward securing its five-star license within the current fiscal year.

The resort will be developed as Nepal’s first Water Resort featuring high-tech attractions such as musical fountains, 3D water screens, mini cruises, and dedicated water dining and spa facilities. Designed as a Green Certified (Gold) Eco-Wellness Resort, it will promote sustainability, organic wellness practices, sports tourism infrastructure, and naturotherapy.

Incorporating Lumbini’s spiritual heritage, the property will also feature a Buddha Theme Park, meditation zones, and cultural centers. With an experienced international leadership team appointed, the resort aims to become a premier hub for conferences, destination weddings, and holistic tourism, while also contributing to local employment and economic growth. The company has also confirmed preparations for an upcoming IPO.
