Market posts double digit gain after ages, closing at 1253.06 points; stocks of commercial banks traded in huge amounts

The market today was making minimal movement in the positive direction until it shot up to gain double digit points in the final hour of the trade. The benchmark index gained 0.89% or 11.02 points and closed at 1253.06 points. The turnover was worth Rs.42.94 Crore achieved from trade of 1,466,897 units of shares traded through 6,157 transactions trading scrips of 170 listed companies in the process.

Today’s trade was dominated by Mega Bank Limited (MEGA) after posting a turnover of Rs.4.95 Crore achieved from trade of 242,381 units of shares. The LTP of the commercial bank stands at Rs.207 per share.

Swarojgar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (SLBBL) hit the positive circuit today as it gained 10% or 43 points and closed at Rs.473 per share. Union Hydropower Limited (UNHPL) was today’s top loser after it lost 5.88% or 8 points and closed at Rs.128 per share.

Sensitive Index gained 1.43 points and closed at 269.96 points while Float Index gained 0.94 points and closed at 92.04 points.

Trading, Manufacturing and Others were among losing sub-indices today while rest of the sub-indices ended in the green zone after gaining points.
