The Malekhu-Mugling section of the Prithvi Highway will remain completely closed for three hours today to facilitate the installation of a passenger traffic girder for an overhead bridge at Mazhimtar.

According to the western section of the Nagdhunga-Mugling Road Project, vehicular movement along the road section will be halted from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm during the installation work.

Sachendra Mishra, Information Officer of the western section of the Nagdhunga-Mugling Road Project, said the closure is necessary to safely place the bridge girder over the highway.

All vehicles travelling along the Malekhu-Mugling road section will be prohibited from passing through the affected area during the three-hour period. The temporary closure has been implemented to ensure the safety of workers, passengers and road users while the heavy bridge component is being installed.

The project has requested drivers and passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and remain patient during the traffic disruption. Road users have also been urged to maintain lane discipline and strictly follow traffic rules and instructions from traffic personnel.

The project has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to commuters due to the temporary road closure and said the measure is necessary to facilitate the ongoing infrastructure development work along the Prithvi Highway.
