KP Sharma Oli Records Statement at NHRC Over Gen Z Protests

CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli recorded his statement at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Saturday in connection with the September 8 and 9 Gen Z protests.

According to the NHRC, Oli was questioned for over two and a half hours at the commission’s office, with discussions centering on his responsibilities as the head of government and chair of the National Security Council during the time of the protests. The commission had prepared around three dozen questions related to his role, decisions, and actions, all of which were addressed during the session.

Earlier the same day, Oli also submitted a written statement to the high-level probe commission formed to investigate the Gen Z protest incidents. Members of the commission visited his residence to collect the written testimony as part of the ongoing inquiry.
