KP Sharma Oli Recommended as UML Candidate from Jhapa-5

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has been unanimously recommended as the party’s candidate from Jhapa Constituency No. 5 for the upcoming House of Representatives election. The decision was taken by a meeting of UML Jhapa-5, which endorsed Oli as the direct candidate.

Party sources said that although other leaders had expressed interest in contesting from the constituency, consensus was ultimately reached in favor of Oli. He had previously won from Jhapa-5 in both the 2017 and 2022 general elections, and the constituency is regarded as one of his strongholds. Jhapa district has five constituencies, where meetings were also held on the same day to finalize candidate recommendations.
