Jhapa Energy Sells Rs 47.1 million Worth of Solar Power to NEA
Jhapa Energy Limited (JHAPA) has sold electricity worth Rs 47.1 million to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) in the first five months of the current fiscal year 2082/83. The company generated 6.52 million units of power from its 10-megawatt solar project in Buluchowk, Shivasatakshi Municipality, Jhapa, between Shrawan and mid-Mangsir, according to Chairman Lal Bahadur Sanwa Limbu.
The Nepal Electricity Authority purchases the power at Rs 7.30 per unit. Operating commercially for the past two years, the project spans 22 bigaha of land with 21,600 solar panels and is connected to the national grid through the nearby Buluchowk substation.
Jhapa Energy had sold solar power worth Rs 50 million in fiscal year 2080/81, which increased to Rs 90 million in 2081/82.
