ICAN Launches GAIN Project to Make Nepal a Global Accounting Hub

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) has launched the Global Accounting Initiative in Nepal (GAIN), aiming to position Nepal as a top global destination for accounting and finance outsourcing. The initiative addresses the growing global demand for BPO and KPO services in areas like accounting, auditing, taxation, payroll, and financial reporting.

ICAN unveiled a promotional video and a dedicated web portal to connect Nepali professionals with international clients. With nearly 1,000 Nepali accountants already engaged in outsourcing and generating USD 45 million annually, GAIN seeks to scale this impact, creating over 150,000 jobs and potentially earning USD 6 billion per year within a decade. The project emphasizes skill development, policy advocacy, infrastructure, and global branding to strengthen Nepal’s competitive position.
