Former PM Bhattarai Withdraws Candidacy from Gorkha-2

Former Prime Minister Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai has withdrawn his candidacy for the March 5 House of Representatives election from Gorkha Constituency No. 2. Bhattarai, who was contesting as a candidate of the Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party, withdrew his nomination through his representative Narayan Khatri at the Election Office in Gorkha Municipality-8, according to election officer Mohan Prasad Belbase.

Similarly, Gopal Babu Shrestha, also a Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party candidate also withdrew his nomination from Gorkha Constituency No. 1, chief returning officer Bishnu Prasad Gautam confirmed.

Following the withdrawal of both candidates, the number of contenders has been reduced to 12 in Gorkha Constituency No. 1 and 13 in Constituency No. 2 for the upcoming House of Representatives election.
