Finance Minister addresses on the Annual Meeting of Board of Governors

Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada had recently participated in the 51st Annual Meeting of Board of Governors in Manila, Philippines on May 5th, 2018.

Dr Khatiwada had addressed the important role played by ADB in fighting poverty and enhancing inclusive development in Nepal.

He further stated that Nepal has a goal of graduating from LDC status in the next four years, meeting the fundamental civil rights of the citizens as enshrined in the constitution, and achieving the SDGs calls for synchronizing the development goals. The country needs to invest at least 50 percent of GDP annually to meet the SDGs alone during the entire period till 2030, and this translates to public sector financing gap of more than 10 percent of GDP for the SDG period.

He also addressed challenges related to global warming, climate changes, cross border migration, crime and human trafficking as well.
