Chinese Billionaire Jack Ma Arrives in Kathmandu

Jack Ma, the renowned Chinese entrepreneur and founder of Alibaba Group, has arrived in Kathmandu.
An official from the immigration department was quoted as confirming that the Boeing 737 Max plane carrying Jack Ma landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 2:30 p.m.
Ma arrived in Kathmandu from China, with a stopover in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
The official was quoted as informing that Jack Ma arrived in Kathmandu on a private visit, accompanied by a team.
Sources indicate that he is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
Jack Ma, whose full name is Jack Ma Yun, is the founder of Alibaba, one of the world's largest e-commerce companies. He is ranked fifth among the richest Chinese individuals and is placed 63rd on the list of global billionaires.
According to Forbes, his current net worth stands at 23.5 billion US dollars.
At the age of 58, Jack Ma pursued his education in science and arts. Prior to venturing into e-commerce, he worked as an English teacher in Huangzhou. He founded Alibaba in 1999.
Outside of China, Jack Ma was widely regarded as a symbol of Chinese success.
However, he disappeared from public life abruptly at the beginning of 2020. Following his public criticism of the Chinese government's policies, the initial public offering (IPO) of his company was cancelled by the Chinese government. Last seen in Japan in March amid rumors of his detention, he has since been living discreetly away from the public eye. International media reports suggest that he is residing in Tokyo with his family.
