Investors sentiment rose this week following the proposal of dividends from the big companies like Everest Bank, Nabil Bank, Chilime Hydropower Co Ltd along with other Development and Finance companies.
In anticipation of healthy return for the listed companies, the investors are in row to grab the share of those listed companies which had posted healthy earning figures last fiscal year.
Though, the amendment of the paid up capital related policy by NRB weaken the sentiment of investors on Tuesday, attributing to more than four points plunge on that day, the morale of the investors on the subsequent days was intact.
With more and more companies starting to propose dividends, the investors are finding the secondary market more attractive than other alternative investments. Coming to the end of the week, the local bourse gained 3.33 points to settle at 549.82 levels.
Among the sub-indices, only Others and Finance suffered loss of 5.87 and 0.38 points respectively. Whereas, Manufacturing remained intact at 884.02 levels.
While, Hydro and Insurance were two of the sectors with hefty growth of 34.75 and 43.02 points respectively. Similarly, Development gained 4.30 points alongside 2.08 points leap of Hotels and 2.06 points incline of Banking.
All in all, the 138 scrips were traded, out of which 57 scrips gained, 14 remained intact and 64 scrips lost.
The best performers for the day was, Swarojgar Laghu Bitta Bikas Bank Ltd. (SLBBL), closed at Rs 500, with Rs 143 or 40.06 percent gain. Whereas, Axis Development Bank Limited (AXIS), closed at Rs 79, was the top loser with Rs 18 or 18.55 percent loss followed by Everest bank limited (EBL), closed at Rs 1633, with Rs 187 or 10.27 percent loss.
The share with the highest turnover this week was, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1595, with 163,219 units worth Rs 257,184,302 which were carried by 1,051 transactions.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the CHCL was Broker No 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited with 12.36%; amounting Rs 63,590,685 via 88 transactions totaling 40,329 units which includes 14 matching transactions tallying 14,679 units worth Rs 23,171,338.
Overall, 2,522,971 units of share were traded by, 11,645 transactions worth Rs 972.71 million; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 551,845.19 million.
