Wednesday Fever No More: NEPSE Gains 40.68 Points, First Gain After Five Consecutive Fall and First Green Wednesday in 2022

The NEPSE index closed at 2,568.25 today after gaining 40.68 points from last trading day's closing. This is the first green day in NEPSE after five consecutive red days. The index had lost 14.26 points yesterday.
The index has also closed green for the first time on a Wednesday. NEPSE had always closed red on Wednesdays in the year 2022, a phenomenon known by the community as Wednesday fever.
The index opened at 2,527.77 today and made the intraday low at 2,516.12. However, it couldn't sustain the fall, and the index kept gaining from there. It then closed at the intraday high of 2,568.25.
232 scrips traded hands via 36,811 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 4,502,511 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 2.25 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 1.75 Arba.
Siddhartha Insurance Ltd. (SIL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 11.27 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 1,025 per share. The shares of Prabhu Insurance Company Ltd. Promoter (PRINPO) were traded the most.
A total of three scrips technically gained 10% and hit the positive circuit breaker for the day.
On the other side of things, the 9.5% NCC Debenture 2086 (NCCD86) lost the highest 2%.
All sector indices have closed green today. "Others" gained the highest 4.12%, followed by "Development Bank" which gained 3.32%.
