Weather Update: Rain Expected in Various Provinces, Relief from Heatwave

The current weather in the country is influenced by western winds and a low-pressure system in Bihar, India, according to the Department of Water and Meteorology's Weather Forecasting General Branch.

Morning weather has seen partial to normal changes in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki regions, while the remaining areas generally have clear weather. Light to moderate rain is occurring in a few places in the Koshi and Bagmati regions.

In the afternoon, the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati Provinces can expect partial to normal weather changes, while the rest of the country will remain clear. The forecast indicates a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in a few places within the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some hilly areas of other provinces, including Madhesh.

During the night, the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will experience partial to normal weather changes, while the rest of the country will have partially clear conditions. There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in some hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki regions, including Koshi. Additionally, there may be temporary or light rain with thunder and lightning in one or two places in Madhesh province and other hilly regions.

The department has also predicted the approaching weather system that will enter Nepal in a few days. The system, originating from Kerala, India, will reach the Bay of Bengal before entering Nepal via Jhapa. The spread of this system across Nepal is expected to take approximately five days.

Most parts of the country have experienced relief from the heat following rainfall in some areas. The department forecasts a gradual decrease in heat in the eastern regions, while the central region may experience high temperatures for a few more days.
