Vibor Bikas Bank Ltd. collects Rs 4m in deposits

Vibor Development Bank collected deposits worth Rs 4 million on Friday in a turnaround from the run on the bank on Wednesday forcing Nepal Rastra Bank to come to its rescue. Vibor said about two dozen people deposited money in the bank. "Some of them were new depositors," said chief executive officer Ajay Ghimire. He added that he was surprised by the courage of some depositors. Vibor said it witnessed withdrawals amounting to Rs 20 million on Friday. Meanwhile, its directors have announced that they will not take meeting allowances until the bank repays the loans provided by the central bank under the lender of last resort policy.
