CPN (Maoist Centre)’s standing committee member Janardan Sharma has been appointed as the new Finance Minister. Sharma has been inducted as the minister in the government led by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

This is the fourth time Sharma took the ministerial berth in his political career. The Supreme Court (SC)’s mandamus order on Monday had established the new government in Nepal under the leadership of Deuba.

Earlier, Sharma had served the country as the minister for peace and reconstruction, minster for energy, and minister for home affairs in a successful manner. His tenure as the energy minister is worth remembering for his move to remove load-shedding or power outages in the country.

It was his action plan as the energy minister which paved the way for liberating the country from 16-hours of power outage in the country.

Born in Musikot municipality-5, Rukum-West in 26 Baisakh 2020 BS, Sharma was elected parliamentarian representing the CPN (Maoist Centre)  in the House of Representatives in 2074 BS.

Before joining politics, he had worked in the Agriculture Research Center for five years.
