Two MW power production in Solu benefitting five thousand households
SOLUKHUMBU, Sept 6:
Micro-hydropower projects in different parts of the district have been producing above two megawatt of power.
The total production of 2089 kilowatt is benefitting more than 5,000 households in the district.
The support for the micro-hydel projects has come from the District Energy and Environment Unit, Solukhumbu, the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre, Salleri Chyalsa Power Company, Khumbu Power Company and the Rural Area Development Committee under the DDC.
Apart from this, the residents of Chaulakharka in the district are consuming some 100 kilowatt of power produced in neighbouring Ramechap district.
Additional micro-power projects are under construction in different parts of the district including Forche and Jubhing.
