Triple top at 415 level

With the opening at 414.5 levels, Nepal Stock Exchange(Nepse) started its trade in the declining mode as the benchmark index dropped to 414 levels in the first 15 minutes. Later the market index started to gain upward movement today's high of 415.5 levels but couldn’t sustain. Before the downfall, the local bourse made several attempts to cross 415 level making triple top at 415 level but failed as selling pressure at lower range drag the index down to 414.02 levels.
As today was the book closure of Chilime Hydro Power Co. (CHCL), the Nepse had adjusted the CHCL opening level to Rs 881 per unit. The scrip traded between the range of Rs 872 to Rs 932 and came to close at Rs 888.With the increase in CHCL by Rs 8 along with Arun Valley and Butwal increment by Rs 6 and Rs 8 respectively, the Hydro sector was able to surge by 7.72 or 0.92% points. Other inclines in the sub-indices were Development, Finance and Insurance with 0.02 or 0.006%, 0.31 or 0.12% and 1.53 or 0.23% points respectively.
Under Development, the rise in Diyalo Bikas Bank Ltd.(DBBL), closed at Rs 103, and Gandaki Bikas Bank Limited(GBBL), closed at Rs 145, by Rs 9 and Rs 7 along with Top Gainer of the day, Excel Development Bank Ltd. (EDBL), closed at Rs 320, by Rs 29 helped in Development growth. Today both DBBL and GBBL has proposed a dividend of 17.50% cash dividend and 14.5% bonus share respectively.
Today also Banking sector plummeted down as the sector lost 0.89 or 0.24% points. The main contributors to the decline were BOK, Nabil and HBL as three of the scrip decreased by Rs 21, Rs 10 and Rs 7 respectively. Other decliners were Hotels and Others sector with 6.40 or 1.09% or 1.17 or 0.16% points respectively. Under Hotels , the loss of Soaltee Hotel Ltd. outweighed the gain of Oriental Hotel Ltd.. Whereas in Others, the fall in the NTC by Rs 1 drag the sector down.
Overall there were 90 scrips traded among which 38 scrips increased, 9 remain intact and 43 scrips decreased. The highest turnover and traded share for the day was KIST Bank Limited (KIST), closed at Rs 115, with 62,620 units worth Rs 7,199,750 via 10 transactions.
The total turnover today was 53,044,184 which is comparatively Rs 44,315,745 or 45.52% lower than prior trading session. Overall 224,148 units of shares were traded via 1,239 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 391,854.125 Millions.
