Traffic Police Fine 2,176 Vehicles in Kathmandu Valley in 24 Hours
A total of 2,176 vehicles were penalized for violating various traffic regulations across the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours.
According to Naresh Prasad Subedi, spokesperson and Superintendent of Police at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, the offences included 81 cases of drunk driving, 101 cases of unauthorized ride-sharing, 159 traffic signal violations, and 202 cases of overspeeding.
The enforcement drive also recorded 92 lane discipline violations, 110 cases of unnecessary honking in restricted areas, 110 instances of illegal pavement parking, 66 one-way traffic violations, and 1,055 other traffic-related offences.
The traffic police collected Rs 1.62 million in fines from the violators during the operation.
