Traffic Police Fine 1,813 Drivers for Traffic Violations in 24 Hours in Kathmandu Valley

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office took action against 1,813 drivers for violating various traffic rules over the past 24 hours, collecting more than Rs 500,000 in fines.

According to the Traffic Police Office, nine drivers were penalized for driving under the influence of alcohol, while 105 were booked for improper ride-sharing practices. Likewise, 119 drivers were fined for jumping traffic signals and 115 for overspeeding.

Similarly, 102 drivers faced action for violating lane discipline, 79 for unnecessary honking in restricted areas, 117 for parking inside road boxes, and 65 for driving in the wrong direction on one-way roads.

The remaining 1,110 drivers were penalized for various other traffic-related offences. The Traffic Police Office has urged motorists to comply with traffic rules to help ensure safer and smoother roads across the Kathmandu Valley.
