Due to technical issues in the brokers' data center, trading in NEPSE has been halted. The exchange has unveiled a notice stating that the trading will be resumed as soon as the issue is resolved.
The issue was witnessed by TMS users about an hour after the trading session opened today. NEPSE CEO Krishna Bahadur Karki claimed that 30 stockbrokers have been affected, which has caused trading accounts opened under them unable to connect to the data center.
It is plausible that NEPSE will extend the trading session in order to make up for the time lost in the downtime.
As of writing, the NEPSE index is at 2,668.11, a minimal 0.15 points gain from yesterday's closing, according to nepalstock.com.np. Meanwhile, the TMS account from one of the brokers reveals that the index is at 2,672.17, which is a 4.19 points gain from yesterday's closing. The NEPSE index closed at 2,667.97 yesterday after gaining 101.07 points from last week's closing.
