Trading Session Finally Over After a Tiring Day of Confusion and Scrambling; NEPSE Up 12.56 Points

The NEPSE index gained 12.56 points on a highly volatile day today and closed at 2,599.07. The index opened at 2,600.32 and made an intraday low at 2,498.59. However, this is because the data shown today was faulty for quite some time due to a technical glitch in the scrip NIFRA. Although the index went as high as 2,620.45, it ultimately closed at 2,599.07. With this, total volatility of 121.86 points was observed in the trading session today.

16,726,472 shares traded hands via 69,994 transactions. The trading of 204 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 6.7 Arba.

While the float index gained 0.87 points and closed at 179.28, the Sensitive index is at 470.34 after gaining 2.4 points.

Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 58.25 crores. Its shares also traded the most.

The top three highest gainers have technically hit the 10% positive circuit today. Meanwhile, NIFRA has lost the most 5.39%, followed by Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) which lost 4.71%.

Hydropower and the sector "Others" lost today while all others closed green. While Hydropower lost the most 1.11%, Hotels gained the most 2.3%.
