Issuing a press release today, the Stock Brokers Association of Nepal has requested investors to trade stocks online.

Because of the increasing risks of Covid-19, the global pandemic, physically visiting broker offices to trade poses a health concern to the employees of these offices and the investors themselves. Unfortunately, some employees of various broker offices have already contracted the virus.

Since buying and selling of shares, and even the payment itself can be done remotely, the Stock Brokers Association of Nepal has urged investors to follow safety protocols and trade via the online trading platform.

Furthermore, miscellaneous services like account opening, settlement, and related queries can also be done at the present without physically visiting the broker offices. Thus, investors will not experience any issue while trading from home.

When we look at the overall data, we see that 36% of the active clients from all the broker companies use the online platform at the present. Last month, only 22.45% of investors traded online. Thus, the percentage of online users has increased by 60% in just a month. This can be seen as a significant achievement in NEPSE.
