Three Applicants Shortlisted for Vacant Post of NEPSE CEO; What is Their Background?

Three applicants have been shortlisted for the vacant post of NEPSE CEO.

Out of the applications received for the post, five were selected in the first phase. Earlier, the names of five out of 11 applicants were shortlisted. The selection committee on Monday recommended the names of three candidates. Out of the five, the selection committee has recommended Ramesh Bhandari, Krishna Bahadur Karki, and Keshav Shrestha.

Now, the Ministry of Finance will submit the shortlist in the cabinet meeting. The government will appoint one of them as the CEO of Nepse for the next four years. Former NEPSE CEO Chandra Singh Saud had resigned from the post after being involved in the illicit share purchase case of Sarbottam Cement.

Ramesh Bhandari has served as CEO at RBB Merchant Banking Limited and Deputy General Manager at Growmore Merchant Banker Limited. He studied Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Financial Management at Savitribai Phule Pune University. Bhandari is also a board member of Sindhu Bikas Bank Limited.

Another applicant Keshav Shrestha did his MBA from Tribhuvan University and studied Management at Mewar University. Shrestha is also the former chairman of NepaliPaisa, a financial news portal. He has since departed from the portal and has been renowned in the investing community as an investment trainer. 

Meanwhile, Krishna Bahadur Karki was the coordinator of Environment, Compensation Distribution, and Rehabilitation Unit of Budhigandaki Hydropower Project under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation.
