The latest spread, interest and marginal lending rates of commercial banks

Spread rate a big deal for any banking and financial institutions. Stringently regulated net interest rate can have immense bearing on its profitability as evident from the quarterly reports published by the BFIs following the central bank’s move to cap the spread.
No wonder that the BFIs have been urging the NRB to become more flexible when it comes to the spread, and no wonder that many of the commercial banks are yet to fit within the cap (see Table 1), though they are adjusting the spread rate.
