The Bulls Take Hits But Hit Harder; NEPSE Index Decimal Points Away from All-Time High

The NEPSE index gained a significant 55.76 points today and closed at 2,827.12. The index opened at 2793.22 and immediately made the intraday low at 2,771.26. However, this was the most that the bears could pull the index today. Bullish sentiment immediately dominated and took the index as high as 2,827.12. The index closed at the intraday-high today.

This is the second-high closing in the history of NEPSE. The all-time high was created this Sunday at 2,827.93. Thus, the index is away from the all-time high only by a microscopic margin.

22,613,029 shares traded hands via 114,216 transactions. The trading of 219 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 11.351 Arba. Nepal's capital market had created the highest intraday turnover recorded in the history of NEPSE of Rs. 17.028 Arba earlier this week.

While the float index gained 3.25 points and closed at 194.46, the Sensitive index is at 505.15 after losing 7.83 points.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 1.37 Arba. This is the highest intraday turnover for the stock and also one of the highest records for stock in NEPSE. NRIC also saw the highest number of its shares traded hands today.

Over 10 companies have closed at the upper limit of 10% intraday gain today.

On the other side of things, Radhi Bidyut Company Limited (RADHI) lost the most 7.23%.

The Mutual Fund is the only sector that closed red today, with a minimal 0.12% loss. Among all other sectors that gained, the Finance sector has gained a massive 7.91%, followed by the Development Bank sector that gained 6.13%.
