Thapaliya new NEPSE General Manager

Beating seven candidates who had applied for the position, Sitaram Thapaliya has become the general manager of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). He was appointed to the post by the decision of the cabinet meeting on Thursday.

Of the total seven candidates, Public Enterprise Development Board had shortlisted three names and sent it to the cabinet.

Thapaliya, former chairman of Nepal Investors’ Forum, Dilli Raj Aryal, a bureaucrat with the Finance Ministry, and Shankar Man Singh, former general manager of NEPSE, were in the tight race for the position.

Others who had applied for the position are: NEPSE’s acting General Manger Pramod Kumar Bhattarai, Chief Executive Officer of Siddartha Capital Dhruba Timilsina, Former administrator of Rastriya Bima Sansthan, Shivahari Shrestha, and Kumar KC.
