Syangja gets Rs. 20.27 million in remittance a day
SYANGJA, MAR 2:
The Syangja district gets remittance worth Rs. 20.27 million in a day.
According to Chief at the District Bureau of Statistics, Syangja, Jagulal Basyal, out of the total population of the district, 50,475 people are working abroad. Of them, 40,000 youths have gone for overseas employment.
The district receives remittance worth Rs. 8.17 million annually.
Out of two municipalities and 60 VDCs in the district, most of the youths of the two municipalities and two dozen VDCs including Chhangchhangdi, Kyamki, Manakamana and Kuwakot are in overseas employment.
Of the total number of youths, who have gone for foreign employment, 50 per cent are in India and the remaining are in Dubai, Qatar, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, America and other countries, said Basyal.
The district gets the remittance through different commercial and development banks, and the cooperatives.
Of the total amount of remittance entering the district, around two billion rupees goes out as health and education expense.
