Swiss Investment Fund Injects $10 Million into Nepal's Global IME Bank to Boost SMEs and Agriculture

The Swiss Investment Fund for Emerging Markets (SIFEM) has committed to investing 10 million US dollars (approximately 1 Arba 32 Crore rupees) in Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME), Nepal.

This agreement was signed by Ratnaraj Bajracharya, CEO of Global IME Bank, and Jörg Frieden, Chairman of the Swiss Investment Fund for Emerging Markets.

The investment aims to boost financial support for agriculture, and micro, small, and medium enterprises in Nepal, enhancing their market competitiveness, financial inclusion, and job creation.

The Embassy of Switzerland in Nepal expressed satisfaction with this collaboration, which supports the expansion of these sectors in Nepal.

Global IME Bank, a prominent player in Nepal's banking sector, serves over 4.6 million customers through an extensive network that includes branches, ATMs, and international remittance services, thereby playing a significant role in the country's economic development.
