Surya Life Insurance reports fair growth in Q1; EPS declines to Rs. 18.86

Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL) has published its first-quarter report of fiscal year 2077/2078 with an increase in Net Profit by 28.96% compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s net earnings increased to Rs. 10.16 crores in this quarter from Rs. 7.87 crores in the corresponding quarter.
As per the unaudited report for the first quarter published today, Surya Life has a paid-up capital of Rs. 2.15 Arba with a reserve of Rs. 76.01 crores.
The company has Rs. 8.07 Arba in life insurance fund and Rs. 11.94 crore in the contingent fund.
The Net Premium rose by 44.50% to Rs. 83.68 crores in FY 2077/2078 from Rs. 57.91 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company has earned Rs. 17.15 crores from income from investment, loans, and other headings.
The company’s Net claim increased by 113.29% to Rs. 17.59 crores in this quarter. The company’s number of policies stood at 255,227 till Q1 of 2077/2078.
Its annualized earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs. 18.86 whereas Net worth per share stood at Rs. 140.82.
