Sunrise Bank appoints Janak Sharma Poudyal as its new CEO: Niraj Shrestha resigns from CEO without working a single day

Sunrise Bank Limited (SRBL) appoints Mr. Janak Sharma Poudyal as its new CEO for 4 years.

After the information from Niraj Shrestha, which he couldn’t work on such a disagreement situation among BOD members themselves, the BOD meeting appoints Janak Sharma Poudyal as new CEO. Niraj Shrestha didn’t work even a single day in Sunrise Bank Limited after the disagreement from two of its BOD members about his appointment.

Armed with an MBA degree from London, Poudyal has more than 30 years of banking experience including international banking experience.

He started his career with Nabil Bank in 1987 where he worked for 11 years. Poudyal has played active role in the establishment of NIC Asia Bank Limited and Laxmi Bank Limited. After that, he went to London, UK for MBA degree and also carries an international banking experience having worked for Barclays Bank, London.

After returning from London, he moved to Global IME as assistant General Manager, and promoted to deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) followed by CEO for two years. Mr. Janak Sharma Poudyal, had resigned from his post of CEO in Global IME on Magh 08, 2075.

Following the NRB directives, Janak Sharma Poudyal has been on cooling period up to Shrawan 8, 2076.
