SUMMON OF FIRST CA MEETING PROPELS NEPSE

Following the summon  of the first Constituent Assembly meeting by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi, the market today witnessed a growth of 9.44 points.

With this increment the stock index today came to cross the 780 mark to settle at 782.20 levels.

Much to the investors ease, a compromise was reached between the head of state and the executive head to call the first CA meeting yesterday. Then, issuing a statement, Chairman Regime summoned the first meeting of the CA as of January 22.

The latest development has broken the dilemma of investors regarding the certainty of government formation and constitution writing process. With this development, investors are optimistic of Congress led government which is perceived to be good for the capital market by many.

 Fuelled by such hopeful sentiment, the rush of demand of listed shares was observed in the market today attributing to healthy gain in most of the traded scrips.

Mostly, high demand of Banking, Insurance and Hydro sectors scrips were witnessed today as all three sub-indices propelled by double digit. Banking increased by 12.87 points, Hydro inclined by 28.41 points and Insurance surged by 33.92 points.

Similarly, following above sectors, Development and Finance also made gains of 4.47 and 2.68 points respectively.

Meanwhile, Hotels and Others suffered a loss of 1.68 and 4.7 points respectively.

In addition to improved performance of stock index, the liquidity of the market also witnessed an increment. The market turnover today stood at Rs 397,295,429 which is higher by 23 percent than the prior day’s figure. Similarly, the total no of shares traded also rose to 870,214 up from 715,349 share units. The total number of transactions today tallied at 2,321 times.

Altogether there were trade of 113 scrips, among which 68 scrips gained, 14 scrips remained intact and 31 scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded scrips was Sana Kisan Bikas Bank Ltd (SKBBL), closed at Rs 1075, with a gain of Rs 80 or 8.04 percent. Whereas, Lumbini General Insurance (LGI), closed at Rs 350, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 21 or 5.66 percent.

The scrips with the highest turnover in today’s trade was Kumari Bank Ltd (KBL), closed at Rs 540, with trading of 80,374  units worth Rs 42,118,278  via only 151 transactions.

The Broker with the highest transaction of KBL was Broker no  25 (Sweta Securities Pvt. Limited) with 40.63% standalone dealing of the KBL, tallying 65,700 units worth Rs 34,229,420 via 126 transactions which includes 23 matching transactions totaling 12,900 share units worth Rs 6,665,200.
