STOCK INDEX SLIDES BY 0.17 POINTS

Nepal Stock Exchange of Nepal (NEPSE) following the trading resumption after the festive holiday failed to make any upward movement. The secondary market of Nepal today dropped by 0.17 points to close at 579.24 levels.

Though the market had suffer loss up to 2 points, the improvement in the last hour helped narrow the decline to marginal point at the end.

With the most of the investors still out of the valley because of the holidays, the turnover in the market today dropped by 38.38 percent total at Rs 88,051,178. Altogether, 377,295 units of shares were traded through 1587 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 587,535.39 Millions.

As for the movement of sectors,  Banking and Insurance were the only two sectors with a loss of 0.65 and 1.42 points respectively. While, Others made a healthy gain of 2.35 points followed by Finance  with an incline of 0.84 points.

Similarly, Development also made to the green terrain with a jump of 0.13 points alongside 0.14 points advance of Hydro. Whereas, Hotels sector remained intact at 884.67 levels.

 All in all, 81 scrips were traded, out of which 32 scrips gained, 12 remained intact and 37 scrips lost.

The best performer among the traded scrips was of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at 193, with a gain of Rs 17 or 9.66 percent. Whereas, National Hydro Power Co. (NHPC), closed at Rs 53, was the worst performer with Rs 3 or 5.36 percent loss.

The scrip of Nepal Bank Limited following the high gain also had the highest turnover in the today’s trade. Overall, 97079 units of shares were traded through 90 transactions worth Rs 18,146,902.

The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the NBL  was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 21.17%; totaling 40,550 units worth Rs 7,684,830 which was carried out by 27 transactions.


CLEAN ENERGY AND NARAYANI FINANCE PROPOSED DIVIDEND

Clean Energy Development Bank Limited and Narayani National Finance Ltd. today proposed to distribute dividends to its shareholders from the earning of FY 2069/70.

Clean Energy Development Bank Limited has offered  to distribute 5 percent bonus share and 5.26 percent cash dividend to its shareholders.

Similarly, Narayani National Finance Ltd. has proposed to give 12.63157 percent cash dividend to its shareholders.

However, the entire above proposals are subject to approval from the respective company’s upcoming AGM and from the Nepal Rastra Bank.
