STOCK INDEX DROPS 0.94 POINTS

Enduring further loss, the market index came to drop by 0.94 points till the end of today’s session. It was very much a one sided trade today, as the NEPSE index from the beginning to end was hovering in the red zone.
Though the local bourse made some recover to narrow its loss in the end hour, it was not adequate enough to breach the yesterday’s closing level. With today’s loss, the market came to settle below the 580 mark at 579.61 levels.
Among the sub-indices, Banking and Hydro continued to tumble as the investors are still in row to liquidate the scrips related to these sectors after the recent surge. Both came to decrease by 2.29 and 14.28 points respectively. Similarly, Finance continuing its yesterday’s trend diluted further by 1.14 points.
While rest of the sub-indices settled in the green terrain, the sector with the highest gain was Hotels with incline of 20.76 points followed by Manufacturing with 14.46 points. Likewise, Others, Insurance and Development followed with 2.35, 1.57 and 0.01 points respectively.
All in all, 95 scrips were traded, out of which 35 scrips gained, 16 remained intact and 44 scrips lost.
With the approval of Excel Development Bank Ltd. (EDBL), closed at Rs 383, 50 percent bonus share and 2.63 percent cash dividend from the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the company’s shares were well received in the market today. The EXCEL today propelled by Rs 34 or 9.74 percent, making it the best performer among the traded scrips.
Whereas, Namaste Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (NBSL), closed at Rs 186, continuing its dismal performance today also tumbled by Rs 13 or 6.53 percent, making the scrip worst performer twice in a row.
The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was of Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME), closed at Rs 450, with a turnover worth Rs 22,946,330 which was carried out through 56 transactions totaling 50,950 units.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the GBIME was Broker No 45 (Imperial Securities Co .Pvt. Limited) with 78.57%; totaling 80,133 units worth Rs 36,060,249 which was carried out by 5 transactions-- includes 2 matching transactions tallying 40,000 units amounting Rs 18,000,000.
In the overall market, 455,013 unit shares were traded by 2,004 transactions worth Rs 162,859,524. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 587,950.89 million.
