Star hotels announce Christmas, New Year programs

KATHMANDU, Dec 24:

Star hotels in the capital have announced different packages for Christmas and New Year.

The packages generally include dance and musical programs along with lavish buffet and unlimited drinks.

The Everest Hotel is organizing a program named Christmas Eve in which customers will get to enjoy traditional Christmas dinner, a glass of wine, attractive door prizes and live musical program at Rs 2,500 per person. For New Year, the hotel is organizing a special program offering international buffet dinner, free flow of beer, wine, cold drinks and imported spirits, live band, and performance by Modern Dance Troupe, India. Customers have to pay Rs 7,500 per person and Rs 14,000 for couples to enjoy the program.

Similarly, The Fun Café at Hotel Radisson Kathmandu is hosting a traditional buffet dinner at Rs 2,000 per person (excluding taxes) with a glass of house wine or beer on Christmas Eve. According to Karuna Manandhar, assistant manager -- PR and Publicity at Hotel Radisson, Olive Garden restaurant in the hotel will serve a five-course Yuletide menu in candle-lit setting with a bottle of wine. The dinner plus live music, which will be hosted on Christmas Eve, will cost Rs 3,500 per couple (excluding taxes).

Similarly on Christmas Day, The Fun Café will serve a buffet lunch with unlimited beer and live music at Rs 2,000 plus taxes, according to Manandhar.

On New Year Eve, Hotel Radisson Kathmandu is hosting a program named Infi-Neon where customers can enjoy gala buffet dinner with unlimited snacks and premium drinks, live band, DJ, and get exciting door prizes at Rs 5,999 for individuals and Rs 9,999 for couples.

"We are also serving a seven-course New Year dinner in a candle-lit ambience at the Olive Garden at Rs 5,555 per person with a bottle of wine for a couple and the Corner Bar will have a DJ session at Rs 1,000 per person which includes a welcome drink,” said Manandhar.

Hotel Yak and Yeti is organizing Christmas Eve dinner at the Sunrise Restaurant. Lumanti Shakya, sales and marketing executive of the hotel, said they were offering buffet dinner with welcome drink and live music at Rs 3,000 per person. Similarly, it is hosting a six-course candle-lit dinner at The Chimney. "One can enjoy the dinner, a glass of sparkling wine and live music at Rs 5,000 per person," she added.

On Christmas Day, the hotel is serving Christmas Brunch with a welcome drink at the Sunrise Restaurant at Rs 2,500 per person.

The hotel is giving continuity to its decade-old event ´Sinners in Heaven´ on New Year Eve. The event will feature DJ Varun with unlimited drinks and buffet dinner, photo session with top models, flair show, open bar for four hours, and live food counter. Entry fee has been fixed at Rs 3,999 per person. "Those making booking till December 25 will get the ticket at Rs 3,499," added Shakya.

The hotel is also organizing a gala dinner at Sunrise Restaurant priced at Rs 4,999 per person. The program includes lavish buffet, a welcome drink and live music. Similarly, the hotel is organizing a seven-course candle-lit dinner at The Chimney Restaurant. The package, which includes two glasses of sparkling wine, live Jazz performance and door prizes, is available at Rs 6,999 per person.
