Slight increment pushes Nepse up

After the huge surge of 8 points yesterday, today Nepal Stock Exchange followed by meager 0.38 point gain. In the initial session, the benchmark index rocketed up to around 409 level as the Nepal Doorsanchar Co. Ltd traded at the high range of over Rs 600 but as the session progressed the decline in NTC’s scrip also drag the market index down to close at 406.16 level. The scrip of NTC closed Re 1 below the opening price at Rs 593.

Since the NTC is one of the huge capital based company, listed in Nepse; the price movement of NTC and Nepse is positively correlated. So, the ups and downs in stock of NTC very much affect the level of Nepse. Today also the stock of NTC had the highest share traded and turnover with 28,455 units worth Rs 16,906,050. The Broker No 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 55.01% stand alone dealing of NTC , totaling 15,625 units worth Rs 9,300,050 via 19 transactions in which 6 were matching transaction of 9,075 units worth Rs 5,401,500.

Apart from NTC scrip, the recent development between the political parties signaling towards a positive scenario for the country, is also playing a vital part in the recent surge in the Nepse movement. If all the talks and consensus between the political parties ends with a positive note then in the future days we can see a better future for the Investor and Capital Market as a whole.

Today among the traded shares, Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC) which has posted net profit of Rs 13.17 million with EPS of Rs 102.01, was the Top Gainer. This scrip has been the top gainer for two consecutive day in a row, today it added over 9% i.e. Rs 50 to close at Rs 555. Whereas, Neco Insurace Co. Ltd. (NIL), closed at Rs 100, was the Top Loser with Rs 18  or 15.25%.

In case of  highest transaction, Guras Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (GLICL), closed at Rs 130, had the highest transaction of 93 times. This scrip opened at Rs 119 traded between the range of Rs 130 to 115 for the day.

Sectoral wise; Finance, Development and Others sector were the decliners for the day with 0.23%, 0.20% and 0.17% points loss respectively.  Whereas, Insurance added the most points that is 1.43% points followed by Hydro, Banking and Hotels sector with 1.03%, 0.11% and 0.07% points respectively. Sensitive index rose by 0.15 or 0.14% points to rest at 104..81 level while Float index was intact at 30.49 level.

Total scrips traded for the day was 98 with 45 gainers and 37 losers with total turnover of Rs 64,426,950 which is comparatively Rs 12,585,230 or 16.34% lower than prior trading session. Overall 211,436 units of shares were traded via 1,347 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 384,360.15 Millions.
