Slight increase in Nepse

Today the turnover amount in Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) was up by 48.75% than preceding trading day but for Nepse index it was not the same as the benchmark index rose by meager 0.15% points. The market index today also didn’t start in the right foot as the index from the starting session was in declining mode. It was only in the second hour of the session the index incline to gain some momentum. And as the final hour approached, the local bourse tried to come down but the gain in the Hydro and Others sector helped the Nepse to close at 396.26 in a positive note.

Among the traded scrips, Garima Bikash Bank Ltd. (GBBL), settled at Rs 166, was the top gainer with Rs 12 or 7.79%. Likewise, Siddhartha Insurance Ltd. (SIL), settled at Rs 152, with Rs 15 or 8.98% down was the Top Loser. Whereas, Pathibhara Bikas Bank limited which has proposed 13% cash dividend rose by Rs 6 to close at Rs 92. Similarly, Narayani National Finance Co. Ltd. which also has proposed 19.95% cash dividend incline by Rs 2 to close at Rs 134.

In case of the highest transaction,Kamana Bikash Bank Ltd.(KMBL), closed at Rs 115, top the chart with 73 transactions. Similarly, in terms of highest share traded, Sanima Bank Ltd. (SANIMA), settled at Rs 184, topped with 15,868 units. As for the turnover, Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB) , settled at Rs 1772, topped with Rs 8,748,346 of 5,003 units ; in which Broker No 28 (Shree Krishna Securities Limited) was the most active broker with 73.51% stand alone dealing of SCB, amounting Rs 6,431,254 of 3694 units via 1 matching transaction.

Sectoral wise, Hydro and Others were only the gainers for today with 0.49% and 0.94% respectively. Whereas, Insurance, Banking, Development and Finance decreased by 0.66%, 0.31%, 0.05% and 0.02% points respectively. Sensitive index rose by 0.14 or 0.13% points to rest at 101.96 level while Float index dropped by 0.05 or 0.18% points to close at 30.43 level.

Total scrips traded for the day was 90 with 32 gainers and 42 losers with total turnover of Rs 59,389,662 which is comparatively Rs 19,462,530 higher than prior trading session. Overall 162,391 units of shares were traded via 1292 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 374,986.25 Millions.
