The Office of the Transport Management under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport is still run by the central government though six months have already passed since it was taken under the province government.

The Department of Transport Management with the Office as its subordinate is issuing driving license, registering and renewing vehicles.

The Office was written by the Department a month ago to handle these activities own its own. But, the lack of financial and human resources have delayed the activities, said Office Chief, Chet Prasad Upreti.

He further said the printing of smart driving license is not that easy. "At the present state, the service seekers have not got the driving license on time. Going provincial, it will be more difficult as the adoption of technology can not be afforded quickly," he added.

Upreti shared the plight that neither the federal government has given due attention nor the provincial government owned up the responsibility, so the service delivery is badly hampered.

Then Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Development of Province 3, Keshab Sthapit, had announced last September that the office was taken under the provincial government.

Although the Office board has mentioned 'Province-3', it is performing the activities under the central government framework.
