Six agreements signed during NBC

KATHMANDU:

Nepal Business Conclave 2014 concluded today with the signing of six different agreements that are expected to play a crucial role in promoting Nepal’s tourism sector and bringing in foreign investment.

The conclave, jointly organised by the government and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), was participated by a 35-member Malaysian delegation led by president of Perbadanan Putrajaya, a local authority which administrates the federal territory of Putrajaya, Aseh Che Mat, 33-member Chinese delegation led by Yunan Province governor Li Jiheng, and investors from the UK, India and Canada, among others, says an FNCCI statement.

On the occasion, FNCCI president Suraj Vaidya and president of the China Chamber of Tourism Wang Ping signed an agreement on promoting tourism between two countries. Similarly, Nepal’s

Himalayan Builders and Engineers Pvt Ltd signed separate agreements with Malaysia’s Protasco Development Sdn Bhd, Kumpulan Ikram Sdn Bhd and Ikram Education Sdn Bhd on extending cooperation in infrastructure building, establishing an engineering laboratory in Nepal and extending

cooperation in education sector, says the statement.

Likewise, Nepal’s Centrino Global and China’s Tibet GdadangTourism Development Pvt Ltd signed a letter of intent on developing JSB Financial Centre project. Also, Nepal’s Ankhu Hydropower project and Malaysia’s MY Investment Group signed a letter of intent, adds the statement.

The two-day conclave, inaugurated yesterday by Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, was participated by around 300 people. The key note speaker of the event was former Malaysian premier Mahathir bin Mohammad.
