Sideways prevailing in Nepse

Today also Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) moved in sideways direction as the bourse traded in the range of 402 level to 399 level . The market that ended in climbing note yesterday, today started in decreasing note as the market lost more than one and half points within the first 15 minutes. But as the session started to progress, the improvement in Other and Hydro sector helped to uplift the benchmark index to highest level of 402 level for the day. In overall, Nepse gained 1.2 or 0.30% to settle at 402.19 level.

The Top Performer for the day was Siddhartha Insurance Limited (SIL), settled at Rs 118, with Rs 8 or 7.27% up. Whereas, Nepal Aawas Finance Limited (NABB, settled at Rs 129, with Rs 14 or 9.79% down was the Top Loser. While the transaction of NB Insurance Co. Ltd (NBIL) has been suspended by SEBON for inquiry purpose regarding the embezzlement of the general public fund. The last traded price of NBIL was Rs 115 on 31st July.

Chilime Hydro Power Co. Ltd (CHCL), closed at Rs 997, topped the categories of highest transaction with 109 times. Similarly, KIST Bank Limited (KIST), closed at Rs 115, had the highest share traded for the day with 126,155 units. All in all, with 14,489 shares worth Rs 15,238,955 via 58 transactions, Everest Bank Limited (EBL), closed at Rs 1062, had the highest turnover; in which Broker No 8 (Ashutosh Brokerage & Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 66.74% stand alone dealing of EBL, amounting Rs 10,170,187 of 9,676 units via 33 transactions which includes matching of 200 units worth Rs 210,000 via 2 transaction.

Sectoral wise, Banking and Finance suffered loss of 0.02% and 0.23% to close at 371.08 and 260.28 level respectively. On the other hand, Hotel, Others, Insurance and Development sectors moved up by 2.63%, 0.77%, 0.48% and 0.17% respectively than preceding day. Sensitive index rose by 0.28 or 0.27% points to rest at 103.89 level while Float index also added 0.033 or 0.11% point to close at 31.22 level.

Total scrips traded for the day was 87 with 40 gainers and 38 losers with total turnover of Rs 68,901,919 which is comparatively Rs 23,536,240 or 34.15% higher than prior trading session. Overall 258,566 units of shares were traded via 1179 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 380,048.30 Millions.
