Shrestha appointed TIA GM

KATHMANDU, Nov 7 :

Birendra Kumar Shrestha has been appointed the new general manager of the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) after Rishikesh Sharma retired on Thursday.

Prior to his appointment, Shrestha was the spokesperson and corporate director of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

Talking to Republica, Shrestha said his first priority would be to revamp the image of TIA. “I want to turn the challenges into opportunity and will work toward improving the image of TIA.

For this, I will be discussing with the concerned stakeholders and find out areas that need improvement.

 I will then set a timeframe for improvement and work accordingly,” said Shrestha.CAAN is all set to appoint CAAN Director Devendra KC as spokesperson. However, KC has yet to receive the appointment letter.
