Sharp Fall, Steep Rise, and Indecisive Closing: NEPSE Index At 2,570.81, Turnover Declining

The NEPSE index closed at 2,570.81 today after losing 6.68 points from yesterday's closing. The index had lost 55.93 points yesterday.

The index opened at 2,577.36 and made the intraday low at 2,542.11. However, it began to rise from there, and the index went as high as 2,596.31, but ultimately closing at 2,570.81.

A total of 7,653,220 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 3.627 Arba in the turnover amount. This is lower than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 4.113 Arba. 227 scrips traded hands via 48,236 transactions.

United Modi Hydropower Limited (UMHL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 12.12 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 425 per share. The promoter shares of Prime Commercial Bank Limited traded the most.

A total of 3 scrips have technically hit the 10% positive circuit breaker today while Manakamana Smart Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MKLB) lost the most 9.38%.

Four sectors gained while all others closed red. Microfinance gained the most 1.47% and Finance lost the most 2.47%.
