Seven Parliamentary Committees Meet Today to Discuss Bills and Public Issues

Seven parliamentary committees are meeting on Today (Wednesday) to discuss various legislative bills, human rights conditions, and government oversight matters. The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee and the Industry, Commerce, Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee both begin their sessions at 10:00 AM, with the former set to review a subcommittee report on human rights conditions of inmates in prisons and detention centers.

At 11:00 AM, the Finance Committee will evaluate the work, recommendations, and overall role of the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission in managing federal finances. Simultaneously, the Women and Social Affairs Committee will assess monitoring findings on child care homes, juvenile reform centers, safe houses for women, and homes for the elderly.

Later in the day, the Public Accounts Committee gathers at 1:00 PM to review complaints regarding the Ministry of Home Affairs. In addition, the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee will deliberate on the National Forensic Science Laboratory Bill, 2081, while the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee reviews progress from past climate summits and examines Nepal's preparations for the upcoming COP 31 climate conference.
