See-Saw Nepse

After the increment in the Chilime and some of the development sectors scrips in the opening session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) rocketed up by more than a point but later in the hour started to fall as the development sector failed to sustain its ground which dragged the Nepse down by 2 points. In spite of fall, the benchmark was able to take a support in the last hour of the trade as the Banking and Insurance sectors helped to win the day for Nepse in bullish road. In overall, Nepse added 1.08 points to close at 408.44 level.
Among the sub-indices that added that most points was Insurance sector as it climbed by 3.89%. The main contributor to its gain was Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and Life Insurance Co. Nepal as the scrips added Rs 88 and Rs 39 respectively. Similarly other gainers were Hydro and Banking sectors with 1% and 0.35% respectively. In Hydro, Arun valley, Butwal and Chilime, all of the three scrips traded under it, gained Rs 1 Rs 20 and Rs 2 respectively supporting in its incline. Likewise in Banking, gain of 11 scrips outweighed the loss of 6 scrips among the total of 23 banking scrips traded today.
Whereas, lost in the scrips of H&B Dev., Chhimek and Gulmi along with other 13 scrips push the Development sector further down by 0.43% today. Likewise, the fall in the price of NTC by Rs 2 dropped the Other sector by 0.35%. In same manner, Hotels sector also declined by 0.11% as there were no gainers under it. Similarly, Finance also suffered loss of 0.13% as more than half of the scrips traded under it lost, it was only because of General Finance which gained Rs 12, that help to held the Finance sector from further decrease.
Under the Banking sector today, the news of Nepal SBI Bank Ltd. proposal of 12.5% of bonus Share and 5% of cash dividend which is to be approved from NRB and its upcoming AGM, help to add points in its tally as it gained Rs 11 today to close at Rs 580.
Likewise in case of the gainer and losers news for the day, among the 91 scrips traded 36 scrips increased, 17 remain intact and 38 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), closed at Rs 1002, with Rs 88 or 9.99%. Whereas, Hama Merchant & Finance Ltd. (HAMA), closed at Rs 59, was the Top Loser with Rs 6 or 9.23% and also had the highest transaction of 417 times.
In case of highest share traded, H & B Development Bank Ltd (HBDL), closed at Rs 90, topped with 70,450 units. Whereas, among the scrips trading above par value Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBBL), closed at Rs 131, topped with 56785 units.
In case of turnover, today also Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), close at Rs 1,099, topped the category. Overall, 9,316 units worth Rs 10,212,998 via 75 transactions were done of CHCL; in which Broker no 33 (Dachinkali Investment Securities Pvt. Ltd) was the most active broker with 55.48% stand alone dealing of CHCL , totaling 5,166 units worth Rs 5,666,418 via 18 transactions in which 3 were matching transaction of 154 units worth Rs 168,220.
The total turnover today was 77,843,681 which is comparatively Rs 20,020,871 or 32.62% higher than prior trading session. Overall 380,787 units of shares were traded via 1,762 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 386,510.54 Millions.
