On Monday, the government unveiled the fiscal budget for the upcoming FY 2080/81.
Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat yesterday evening in a joint session of both the houses in the parliament (NA and HoR) presented the annual estimates (budget) of revenue and expenditure for the financial year 2080/81 in the Federal Parliament.
In line with Finance Minister's announcement, the 13 central ministries in Nepal have been provided a fiscal budget in the following amounts:

The government has allocated Rs 197.29 Arba for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for the fiscal year 2080/81, which is the highest among all ministries. In the ongoing fiscal year, the budget for this sector is Rs 196.38 Arba. The latest allocated amount is 0.91 Arba more than the previous allocation for the current fiscal year.
In the same manner, Rs. 131.59 Arba has been allocated to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. Based on the announcement, the budget for the Ministry has decreased by Rs. 36 Arba. In the ongoing fiscal year 2079/80, the ministry had provided Rs. 1 Kharba 67 Arba and 18 crores. The deduction amounts to 10.15 percent.
Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said that Rs.83.99 Arba has been allocated to the Ministry of Health and Population while presenting the annual estimates (budget) of revenue and expenditure for the financial year 2080/81 in the Federal Parliament.
It may be noted that a budget of Rs 69.38 Arba was allocated for the Ministry of Health and Population in the current financial year. The budget for the Ministry has been increase by Rs. 14.61 Arba to make heath services more reliable and accessible, particularly in rural, desolate areas of Nepal.
Addressing the joint session of the federal parliament on Monday, Finance Minister Mahat stated that Rs. 58.98 Arba 98 will be allocated in the sector of agriculture and livestock development. In the ongoing fiscal year of 2079/80 the sector had been allocated Rs. 55.89 Arba. It has been understood that the allocation in the said amount for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development is the most of the 10 past fiscal budget allocations.
Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said that environmental balance will be maintained through forest, biological diversity and watershed management. Stating the same, Minister Mahat allocated that Rs. 15.56 for the Forest and Environment sector.
