Securities Board Imposes Rs. 10 Lakh Fine on Sampanna Capital for Money Laundering Violation

The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has taken decisive action against Sampanna Capital and Advisory Nepal Ltd for their violation of anti-money laundering regulations. On Shrawan 11th, SEBON reached a verdict, penalizing Sampanna Capital and imposing a financial fine of Rs. 10 lakhs.

The violation pertains to their non-compliance with the provisions outlined in Section 18 (1) of the Money Laundering and Prevention of Financial Investments in Terrorist Activities Act of 2076. As a result of this breach, SEBON decided to levy the fine of Rs. 10 lakhs.

In a similar action taken earlier, on Jestha 4, SEBON had fined Market Securities Exchange Company Pvt. Ltd. Rs. 10 lakhs for violating the same rule.

The decisive actions taken by SEBON demonstrate their commitment to enforcing financial regulations and ensuring compliance within the securities sector.
